DAV Public school Dayanand Nagar, Maheshkhunt was established in 2005 by the then Regional Director and Vice President of DAV CMC, Mahatma Narayan Das Grover, whose vision, mission, dedication & determination sprouted more than 250 schools in Eastern India where quality education was beyond the access of common people. DAV Public school Dayanand Nagar, Maheshkhunt is the outcome of his noble and selfless service: education to all irrespective of caste, creed, & colour. The school is situated at Kauakol More which is between Maheshkhunt and Jamalpur Gogri en route to Sultanganj Ghat opening and running a school in such a rural area was really a herculean task but what the then Regional Director foresaw could not be perceived by others. Within four months abstract was turned into concrete and the school was inaugurated on 16th April 2005 by the then DM of Khagaria, Nirajan Kumar Chaudhary as a junior branch of SL DAV Public School Khagaria. It was recognized as a separate unit from 1st April 2009 and since then the school and struggled a lot to establish its own identity. We feel proud to proclaim that the mission which we dedicated to has been by far accomplished. School has obtained NOC from the government of Bihar, and by the grace of God and support of well wisher, it has been affiliated to CBSE too up to secondary level w.e.f. 01-04-2013. And the 1st batch of Std-X is to appear at the CBSE Board Exam session 2014-15. Keeping in view the requirements and demand of the hour we have aimed at widening basic as well as infrastructure facilities. The school has 9955.2667 m2 acres of land. A palatial building, G+3 comprising 38 classrooms, science lab, Maths lab, Computer lab, Music hall is being constructed and auditorium equipped with all kinds of facilities is being constructed. Out of which more than 50% of the work has been accomplished and rest of the work is expected to be accomplished within a year. Today the school has 41 well qualified and competent teaching staff and 13 laborious non-teaching staff. The school library has a rich collection of around 3000 books on various subjects. In the field of academic we have excelled in these years as a good number of students are exhibiting their talents in their annual performance as well as various competitive exams conducted by Olympiad Foundations, Pupilfriend Organizations, Avantika and so on. At present the number of students studying in the school has reached up to about 1500 which is the outcome of the very excellence in the academic field. We are even not far behind in the field of co curricular activities. Our Students have brought laurels to the school by bagging prizes in Jhanki, Mantrochharan, Hawan, Quiz, Slogans writing in vadic chetna shivir-2013 held at Purnea. The yoga teams of boys and girls were adjudged runner in the DAV Cluster sports meet-2013 the school also hosted the Inter Schools Cricket Tournament under DAV Cluster sports meet-2013 its grand success will always echo in the milieu of DAV Maheshkhunt and in the hearts of participants. DAV is committed to develop all round personality of a child with a fine blend of Vedic culture and Modern knowledge using global language with a view to inculcating vedic culture in students, Hawan is performed every Wednesday & Saturday. Vedic initiation camps are held every here and to pacing up with the modern world, English has been adopted as the means of communication to update knowledge of the students.
